I do not write for Aetna MAPD anymore but I have 10 active policies which pay renewals.I talked with Aetna on 12/31/09 and they said I needed to be certified by the end of 2009 including taking AHIP and pay the 100.00 to have the privlidge to do so or I will not be paid the renewal commissions which are set to pay out on an annualized basis in early January.

I didn't get it done yesterday so my question is if I complete it today do you think I would still be denied commissions since technically I wasn't certified in 2009 to sell 2010 mapd ? I would just hate to pay 100.00 and spend all the time and still be denied commissions.I do not need AHIP for anything else.

I think you answered your question in the question itself. You said they told you you would have to be certified by the end of 2009. Your asking people that do not work for Aetna a question that was already answered by Aetna.

Well I didn't actually ask Aetna if it would matter if I did it on 1/2/10 ( before the renewal commission check is cut on 1/5/10)but I went ahead and took the AHIP and spent the 100.00 in hopes of Aetna being able to work around this.It is 1400.00 in commissions so I thought it would be worth a chance.
