That actually sounds pretty awesome. I'd love one of those, too. It'd be great to build something off of.

Fixed annuities may not be safe due to risky investments to benefit stock holders Aviva/ Athene is a good example- invested in a bankrupt casino

Here is a compliant video that I use. I've given this to several of our FE agents that also found it very useful on their very first annuity sale. I like that it's compliant and stresses safety over big gains. It's been around for a while but I've never seen anything better than this one.

Maybe you can clarify. Did any owner of a fixed annuity lose money due to an insurance company investing in a bankrupt casino?

Pretty sure my own Annexus annuity (Aviva) I bought 4-years ago has done well. May be my best one.

What do you think is going to happen to it?

And what % did that "bankrupt casino" represent of their entire general account? I highly doubt it was more than 1%.

C'mon! There are regulations that need to be adhered to for insurance companies general investment account.

So far, rpm likes to take something they've heard and think it's true without providing any links or content to back up what they are saying, and assuming it's a bigger deal than it really is.

An indexed annuity is a contract issued and guaranteed1 by an insurance company. You invest an amount of money (premium) in return for protection against down markets; the potential for some investment growth, linked to an index ; and, in some cases, a guaranteed level of lifetime income through optional riders.
