Are there any insurance companies that required their agents to be Registered Reps in order to sell Indexed Annuities? Thanks

yes. some carriers (not very many) only sell their index annuities through their Brokerage division. When this occurs & the agents are also registered reps, the broker dealer compliance officer also has oversight over indexed annuity sales.

I believe Securian/Minnesota Life only sells their index annuity through their brokerage division. So, I believe you must be a registered rep with their broker dealer to have access to their Index Annuity.

However, they sell their IUL through all distribution channels

Several companies have products available only on the b/d channel. Athene, Global Atlantic, etc.

It is a separate product line only available in the b/d channel. There is normally a similar non "b/d" version available as well (although normally with terms-par/spread/caps that aren't as strong)
