Insurance 101 Reading

Hi all

I am looking for a good read on insurance 101- the basics. I perused through the reading material from previous posts, but I am looking for a book that sort of explains the industry a bit...I'm a book freak, and I just finished a pretty neat book recently...so why not get something within my new industry that would help keep me going....thanks in advance.
:)

I am a newbie to the industry...but I found there are many different products and although they are all a forms of insurance, they function very differently.Hit Barnes &Noble or Amazon and punch in "insurance".

I was going into the commercial P&C arena, so I bought " Insurance Commander", which was a good read for a beginner to get a feel for the industry/job/products.

Bought the license material from the state (MA), which was 3 telephone books(ins basics and laws, property and casualty) of very dry and confusing material...a tough read and fairly expensive.

I bought a package from testteachersonline.com...which included 10 hours of video on demand, pdf's of the state books( with some better explainations added) and practice tests with explained answers....a great deal for 99 bucks.

The online package made licensing easier.

I then went to a 3 week New Producers class at The Hartford School of Insurance. It was a great program...it was very neutral ( I thought it would be a "The Hartford is the best" brainwashing program). The facilitator was a great guy with a ton of real world knowledge. But I was smoked by the end of week 3...I had spent 2 months with my nose in books trying to learn the industry.

But it has made the past few weeks a little easier.
