I have read the definitions of all the agents above but still am not 100% on the differences between them. If someone could explain it in lamens terms I'd really appreciate it...

Personally I would think they could all mean the same thing depending upon the company's terminology.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. As far as I understand ..

Exclusive & Captive: Probably mean the same thing - you can only sell the carrier you're captive to or at least offer it as a first choice.

Affiliated: Probably a broker status - you are affiliated with a GA

Career: An employee status - you usually get training and benefits. You could be captive or non-captive depending on the carrier.
