Insurance Newby

Hello. I began working for an insurance rating bureau 5 and a half years ago as a field inspector for commercial fire insurance. My background is in fire protection engineering, not insurance. About a year ago, I transferred to their marketing department. I have learned a lot from working at the bureau, but because I have never directly worked in insurance, I feel that there are some pretty big gaps in my knowledge.

That's why I'm here. I'm hoping to learn more about insurance in general (particularly P&C), as well as keep on top of whats going on in the industry.

It will probably be a while before I can contribute much in the way of insurance advice, but I hope to make myself useful with any questions about marketing or fire protection related.

Thanks for the welcome. I do mostly social media and internet marketing as well as write copy and do the graphic design work for our printed marketing materials.
