i have an insured whose home has some recommendations from carrier and must be fixed within 30 days.

now my client wants to fix it but the permit wont be issued for another 2 months because of some red tape and what not from the county office.

he's going to get the same thing if we remarket, what can he do to stop the notice of cancellation. the carrier wont give him time to fix or wait for the permit.

will have a contract from a licensed contractor stating they are going to fix it as soon as the permit is issue ok?

Yes get it in write on company letter head stating they are planning on having the issues fixed ecf. This will buy time

i dont know, he said the county office is backed up for 2 months and their doing everything by hand, no computers. I said maybe you should talk to them and see because you wont be able to have insurance.

this is NJ, so i guess their dealing with all the paperwork for permits for the sandy damages?

I always thought contractors has their own channel to get permits as well.

but is the carrier suppose to accept a contract as proof to fix and give time or they can still say no?

Most contractors can just file the permit, and get the work done, even before the permit is issued. It reminds me, I am also in the HVAC. Business, I got a call customers boiler went out, in January, in Upper Saddle River NJ ! Filed the permit, did the job. Like two months later I got a call, Permit is ready! Either the contractor doesn't know his way around permits, or he is blowing the job off, to fit in his schedule.

thats what i thought... it maybe hard and tough for you to personally do it, but i thought a licensed contractor can get straight to it.

the electrician took 3 weeks to send over a receipt... for retaining his services for updating the corrections.

I submitted to underwriters so far no response, wonder if they will go through with the cancellation since i have 2 days before the cancellation is effective.

I already re-marketed but its surplus lines and there is a min 25% earn. which i dont want to bind if they tell me on the last day, they will rescind.
