Greetings. Just thought I would introduce myself before I start posting elsewhere.

- I am a thirteen year vet of financial services. Started out with one of the big mutuals.

- I am CFP certificant (since 2007).

- I have taken a "sabbatical" away from the industry for about 18 months to research my growing concerns about the stability of the industry, its companies, and its products. I want to bang my ideas/observations around on the forum and gather advice/input/perspective from peers as to the problems I am observing and what may be done about them.

- Prior to taking time away from the industry, I specialized in term life insurance acquisition and providing "brute force" cost-savings value. Also provided some fee-for-service consulting on existing life insurance policies.

- On a more personal front, I'm a huge fan of Michael Lewis . . . and the Oklahoma Sooners (flame away).

Looking forward to participating on the board.

In my "previous life" as Editor at Life Insurance Selling for several years I spent a lot of time on topics like the stability of the industry, and more specifically of the independent life insurance distribution channel and the challenges it faces (combating the graying producer workforce, challenges from other distribution channels, problems reaching the middle market, fiduciary standard, etc). I look forward to reading your posts, and I'm sure you'll find lots of great feedback here to your ideas and observations.

Welcome but I hope the assist is not SURLY.

The biggest threats to the industry in my humble opinion are FINRA and legislation.
