Is anyone going to the Convention (National Agents Alliance) (NAA

Re: Is anyone going to the Convention (National Agents Alliance)

Just let me know when the newness wears off...there are a lot of opportunities in insurance besides them.

Re: Is anyone going to the Convention (National Agents Alliance)

Amazingly, one of our senior underwriters came into my office today, and mentioned that her life insurance guy was looking for new agents to recruit, and if I could help him. First of all, I asked her, "You have a life Insurance Guy??" feeling a bit shocked that it was someone on the outside. Anyway, turns out it's a friends friends son or something along those lines. So she proceeded to say that he sells Foresters, and that he is looking for agents, so if anyone we work with doesn't work out, would I refer them to him. After mentioned NAA, my suspicions were confirmed, he is a new NAA Agent/Manager, trying to build a team to move to the next level up (probably a 5% increase to around 55%). I shared some background on the glorious history of NAA, and soon she saw the light. I always find it interesting that they never seem to fade away. There are always new agents, but same old situation, and they are always recruiting while trying to sell, and feeling like they have the best opportunity in the free world.

Example of my own exp: 4 yrs b4 NAA: Statefarm agent talks to me and the wife about coverage In a "so while I have u here in my office" kinda way. Been with the same agent for 11yrs for auto insurance. She knew we had a family, home, kids, etc. Not once did she call and say "hey you need coverage!"
After NAA, I found that I could save $4/mo with a non-med MoO policy for same term!

I've never figured out why State Farm's life rates are so high. I've replaced quite a few of them that were badly overpriced.

They're a huge company and could afford to do better. Evidently that's not their focus, no?

Howdy, Fellas. I'm new at this game and would like some advice. I left NAA some years ago and was intrigued by this thread, and read through the whole thing, and learned a lot. I like the MP concept but like to use fully-underwritten products most of the time, in order to get my clients the best bang for their premium bucks.

That being said, my current IMO furnishes free leads and along with that commissions in the range of 40-50 percent. No kidding. That is a huge price to pay for leads. What I am looking for is an IMO that a) will pay commissions around 100%, b) will not require me to go to meetings (as did NAA) or join a bunch of conference calls or webcasts of pep rallies, c) will be satisfied with a reasonable amount of production which comes from leads purchased elsewhere, with no sales goals, etc., d) has some good carriers like Banner, Met Life, Prudential, Americo, etc., e) will allow me to collect residuals from the carriers and not confiscate them like NAA did, f) leave me the hell alone to do my business as I see fit and not have an upline manager breathing down my neck all the time.

Can anyone recommend such an organization? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you want I just went through the same search I can try to point you in the right direction.. Info@integrityassurancegroup.com

OK. I'm going to go just so we shut down this damn long interminable thread!!!

This is one of the best threads on the forum. We can talk about NAA all day long. I also love watching their videos.

Re: Is anyone going to the Convention (National Agents Alliance)

Wow. I planned on reading every page of this thread before posting so that I dont ask a question that has been answered, but man thats a lot to go through. I will try to be as brief as possible.

I was in the mortgage foreclosure business for 7 years. Found myself laid off when the company went out of business. Came accross and ad, answerd it and met with a guy in insurance. He showed me a little of how it worked, I liked what I saw and decided to get licensed. Its NAA. Immediately there were things that didnt feel right. I have done Amway, SMC, Mona Vie, and Scentura Creations so I know cheerleading when I see it and it makes me un-easy. But there were things that made NAA different from the other MLMs also. Anyway, Ive now been licensed for two weeks but I havent set any appointments or wrote any policies because of the concerns I have.

1. I made a few phone calls from the leads I got and people said they have already been contacted by us. I found out that leads are sold numerous times. A, then AA, AAA, and it goes on. its crazy.
2. Some people even said they have already had an agent come to their home and go over some options.
3. The A leads which are supposedly leads that no other agent has had are $24 each. I dont really have a problem with the price but, there are no A leads available in my area because other agents have them on standing order. That means if I want to work with A leads I need to buy out of state. Which of course means the expense of getting a non resident license in other states and of course the gas, hotel, etc.. As new agent that was out of work before getting license I just cant do that.
4. The biggest problem I have is my upline is basically telling me I need to sell WL and UL and stay away from term. I dont have a problem with WL or UL but I dont to be limited to those. Also, I was told NO fully UW. Again, I have no problem with simplified issue, but I dont like being limited to it.

I feel like there is a lot of deception going on and I think they like to get people that arent licensed because those people dont know anything and NAA can mold them. Problem is, Im not a 20 year old kid. I mean no disrespect to anyone that might be 20 years old but at 20 years old I was green in life. Now, Ive been through the ringer a few times. So all of their promises of big money and fancy trips dont mean crap to me. Im trying to make a living to provide for my family. Also, they like to preach about how if you just do whats right for the client, the money will come. I truely belive that to be true in any business but why then would they tell me to never write fully UW? So Im supposed to write a simplified issue policy on a mid 20s couple thats healthy? Wouldnt they be much better served with a fully UW policy in all liklihood?

I know this keeps getting longer but I kept telling my direct upline manager that what I needed was product training. He kept saying dont worry about, that will come. I told him that I have all kinds of experience in in-home sales and presentations and my wife is great on the phone so setting appointments and getting policies done wont be a problem if I knew the products. I asked for product training he said "we dont do that. You can look anline and watch a video" What? How does a salesperson, in any field, sell a product he doesnt know forward and backward? And how does a person do what right for the client if they dont know everying about the products they have available? It doesnt make sense to me.

Does this make sense to anyone? I know there is alot here and this is a long post but, where does a new agent go to good training and access to good products?

Alright kids, here's a secret for you. It's everything you need to know to go from a 55% contract to an 80% contract <SNAP> just like that. Wanna know? It's easy. Become a Key Leader. Think about it. Just hire two people to help you help people, and then help one of those people hire at least one people to help them help people. That's four people helping lots of people instead of just you helping some people. Now it just don't get no simpler than that, people.
