Is Coventry's Putting the Screws to Agents ?

I've been patiently waiting for the back half of my MAPD commisions thru Coventry. I've been expecting a check for $ 4,000 and received a statement saying I owe them $ 400.

I called to talked to one of their reps to find out why I'm owing them money instead of getting my commision. The gal I talk to told me that because Coventry is dropping out the Medicare program all commisions with the effective date of
2/01/09 on, are being charged back.

The lady I had spoken to didn't seem to sure about what she was saying and most of the time I get the wrong information when I call Coventy with questions.

Has anyone heard anything about charging back commisions.

My statement showed a prorated chargeback based on the month of enrollmet. They immediately charged back the commissions once CMS issued the PDP version of first year commissions. I feel the likelihood of getting screwd is very high.

After we handled the enrollments for all independent pharmacies in the state we were in, I realized that Medicare Part D and Part C (med-advantage) were both more trouble than they were worth for agents and seniors. Good luck with those commissions guys.

Very astute observation. I totally agree.

I've got between 100-200 that have PDP plans with me. I rarely ever get a call needing help with a prescription getting paid.

Now getting commissions is a different story.

Likelihood? Bend over and spread 'em boys!

Was mainly referring to the companies/cms's inability to get their acts together with enrollments from day 1. Not trying to belittle your #'s but my experience stems from having to deal with 13-17K enrollments the very first year part d took place. How many phonecalls do you think we got from ticked off clients wondering where their cards were, etc...? If a client doesn't fit into my pdp plan then I just refer them to medicare.gov. IT's not worth the $25 for me to deal with it.

With anything new, you'll have problems. I had some that called me with questions then too. I don't run into that problem now.
