Hello - just found these forums and looking to get a better idea on insurance costs and what / if anything can be done to achieve lower rates! Thank you

I think I'm a "good" candidate for a cost effective policy (solid credit, no tickets, no accidents, no claims) and yet my policy costs remain high, at least to me, year over year.

I'm paying ~$136.00 per month with AAA here in Texas for full coverage on a leased 2017 Volkswagen Passat. How can I get better and cheaper rates and still keep full coverage? Is there a better provider I'm missing out on?

Bodily Injury - $100k/$300k
Property Damage - $50k
PIP - $2,500
Medical Payments - $0
Uninsured Motorist - $50k/$100k
Uninsured Motorist Property Damage be- $25k
Comp and Collision deducible set at $1,000 each

As mentioned I have zero claims, tickets, or accidents. I'm over 40 yrs old, and have 750+ credit.

Am I missing something or does this pricing seem normal?

VW's are one brand with higher premiums, other being Subaru. Raise your Property Damage coverage to 100K, it will cost peanuts compared to the cost of replacing the 100,000 car you hit and total. Raise your Uninsured coverage to match so you can replace your vehicle if you are hit by someone with no coverage, this protects YOU and your property. Then shop your policy with other carriers. Your premium is not bad compared with other states

As a follow-up, I always advise customers to call with 5-6 different vehicles when thinking about swapping vehicles in an effort to see which is affordable on the insurance side and which is most expensive. Once you sign the paperwork it is too late to complain about the insurance cost

Oh no my friend, others on this form have demonstrated they can complain about anything at anytime.:twitchy::D:jiggy:

I was speaking of the customer complaint when calling in for an endorsement change of vehicle. "How Much?"!!! But it is just a sedan!! It's just a Dodge Charger!! It is only a motorcycle (capable of reaching speeds in excess of 150 MPH)

I may be missing it: But I do not see:
  • Number of Years with constant auto coverage
  • Years Driving
  • Zip Code
  • Your Sex
All factors. In addition I cannot more wholly agree that you should "raise your Uninsured motorist" coverage - you are only cheating yourself.

I assume you mean Gender. Quality or Quantity of sex should not have any impact on your auto insurance unless of course you have tickets for public fornication in your car
I disagree. It seems that quality of sex is the largest factor in this situation as the original poster feels he might be getting screwed on his auto insurance.

there are quite companies that noone ever heard of. that have great rates. In CA, for example,, Wawanessa beats most other carriers,,

This man needs an agent in Texas to show him why he should match coverages. $136 per month for full coverage on a VW is pretty good. A California carrieris of no use to a Rexas resident. After he matches coverages, he can then shop apples to apples. Or he can call Geico
