I'm trying to get my younger brother involved in the insurance biz...he's 22 with no diploma. Would Farmers or State Farm give him an appointment without it? He's in rural Oregon and there are only those two agencies near him.

My guess is SF won't touch him. He might have a chance with Farmers. Does he have a GED?

If he can pass the exam, he should be able to sell life insurance.

No, he does not need a HS Diploma all he has to do is pass the exam, I would just want to know why do you want him to work for farmers or any other company why not be independent?:nah:

The question is not if he can sell it is can he get appointed with the specific companies. If he can't get appointed with these companies he can get his license and then find someone who will take him on.

There are IMO's that will take him, if you need some more info please send me a PM and I will Contact you.:)

Diploma or no diploma is not the question you need to ask.

Is he smart or is he stupid?

Does he have a sales personality... meaning can he get along with people, is outgoing, and has a certain degree of aggressiveness (in the old days the ads would say "sports minded.")

Does he WANT to be in the insurance biz? Why?

Does he have the aptitude to understand complex concepts when presented to him?

Is he honest and ethical?

Does he have good communication skills... diction, grammar, vocabulary?

Can he take rejection without getting depressed?

Will he wear a "conservative" coat and tie and socks and shoes if necessary?

Is he a good reader (lots of that in this biz.)

Anyone on the planet can get a diploma... of almost any academic level. Not everyone on the planet has all the other sales skills above.
