Is the life insurance market going to drastically drop due to the possible recession?

Re: Is the life insurance market going to drastically drop due to the possible recess

Every time a bell rings another knucklehead get's everything they believe they are entitled to and life is truly grand.

Funny stuff. I like it. Too sad -but it's true. I wish Americans would wake up, but they are in dreamland and walking around like zombies and all is good.... for now.

You sound like a Bush supporter (if there are any left that will admit it).

Warren Buffet is NOT a so called expert?

This is foolish crap. Of course we're in a recession, only a fool would not acknowledge it.

Despite it, there's never been a time of greater opportunity. Capitalize on it.

:yes:I'm a Bush supporter. I agree with the "turn off the tv" advise. Nobody is denying that times are tough, especially me. I have 11 children. However, times are worse because the media is feeding the public paranoia and folks are REACTING to the negative they hear. Just as positive mental attitude has a lot to do with sales, it also has MUCH to do with the general actions of the American Public. God help us when Bush leaves.

Yes sir! 11 children - oldest 15 and youngest is 2. We were expecting our 12th, but my wife started bleeding last night. I believe we are miscarrying. This will be our 5th miscarriage.

Children are a heritage from the Lord - Happy is the man who's quiver is full. We are certainly happy.:D

I think It will some impact on cariers profit margins wich may lead them to tighten underwriting standards and plan offerings.

Re: Is the life insurance market going to drastically drop due to the possible recess

It is our belief in the products and services that decides our success in the business. Personally, I believe insurance is a necessity and not an accessory.

Recession does not reduce the medical cost; recession does not reduce the number of accidents; recession does not reduce our basic household bills.

There is always opportunity in adversity. While the skeptics walk out of the business, the optimists who stay will have less competition.

Whether you believe we are in a recession or not, there is just as much of an opportunity for agents as there ever was/is. You have to go with the flow - as an agent, you have many choices.

Recession or not, there is a paradigm shift on how people spend their money and how large corporations to redesign their products for the market/new market.

GM is its own example of a paradigm shift, as it has scrapped all or most of its SUV production and "shifted" billions of dollars toward the electric car - the Volt.

As this relates to agents, there are still huge markets. But, before you think about your market, if you are just starting out, you have to spend a lot of time with some sincere due diligence on whether to work captive or with an IMO/FMO. Then, you should ask, 'Is the insurance market changing?' In times like these people do go more conservative and that is a good thing for insurance agents and advisors.

One poster here had an astute question: 'Doesn't the current economy make for a better annuity market?'

I think it does. However, annuities are not the answer to everyone's situation. They are also not designed as a sole investment vehicle for a particular client. They are designed as a very good conservative diversification investment for a well-rounded portfolio - in any market.

If you think the economy will beat your sales efforts, it will. If you keep putting in honest and ethical efforts in your marketing and sales, then you will win in any market condition. You just have to be willing to change, if you have to.
