It's Time...

There is no where in those rules that it says a non agent cannot participate. In fact, right after one of your highlighted passages it states "professional in related fields".. That would be non agents. There is a whole section on the forum directed to consumers so Sam must welcome their participation.

He is by his own signature, a 'Plan Holder'', not a professional, just like millions of other Consumers, none of whom post on these forums

Part of Midlevel's post does not square with that training.
You only conveniently quoted half of what I said in a sad attempt to justify your existence here.

Allow me to repeat because clearly now it's you who's dodging.

WHO, the f*ck are you, that he has to answer to YOU?

This forum has gone to shit folks. I exited once, but this time I'll say it's final. Those who need to contact me know where I am.

You make a good point, but to be fair, rousemark, most people would not call him a professional in related field.

The post(s) you cited were made in October 2019.

The poster you cited has, as do you, a rather mercurial temperament. For balance, we will take a look at posts between us in June of 2019.

It is nice to see you posting again. And I am not trying to give offense with this question.

Trying to keep in mind and follow advice you gave the WA state poster, does "not worth working" in relation to FL mean; that "quite a few" is still not enough volume to cover the cost of your FL advertising , or that the commission levels in FL are too much lower than some other states to make the FL customer contact time expended worthwhile? Thanks.

Thanks, and no offense taken at all LD, these are good questions. In this case the agents (including myself) have a certain amount of time during the day to focus our attention, so of course we center it on what gives us the greatest ROI (with a big splash of what we enjoy doing the most of). Because I rank sites on the major search engines for a variety of terms that are mostly not state-specific, I wouldn't say there are any additional marketing costs for obtaining those leads in Fla. They just come in as they come in, along with several other states.

So "not worth working" for our model comes down to "amount of time invested vs. amount of new clients acquired". Basically close rate. And if Fla, it's always low. We still get several deals there due to call ins, but for us actively pursuing getting those people on the phones has not been worth it. My affiliate handles everything offered there including MAPD's so I make out much better sending traffic and leads over to them.

To me, revenue is revenue whether it's states like WA and Fla. What's important is how easily (and certainly how costly) it is to acquire that revenue on the books. Therefore I never base doing business in a certain state solely on commission amounts. I base it on how hard and expensive it is to put those amounts in our book. Which is why I stated in the WA post something to the likes of half comp plus residuals, STILL being amazing money. But only if it's half as easy and expensive to acquire it. Otherwise those efforts could be far better spent in other states, IMO. It's all about CPA, cost per acquisition. And for me that includes both monetary cost, and time/effort cost.

While it says that is its intended purpose, no where does it say others are not welcome.. And, you will have to admit a whole lot of the discussion, even among agents does not meet the "intended purpose"

Actually, I'd be willing to bet that most discussions do not meet the intended purpose. Rarely by the 2nd or 3rd page does the thread still apply to the original post. I of course play a part in that with my jokes, smart ass comments, and silly photos and memes.

With that said, I'm still not thrilled about a non agent chiming in and commenting when he has no insurance sales experience.

I don't honestly know why people get their panties in a bunch over LD. He's congenial, respectful, and often contributes good info. As a professional, why would I not want to hear from a well informed consumer regarding his views on the products I offer? Where he's misinformed, I'm free to tell him so. In the process, newer and/or lesser informed agents looking in will gain some knowledge they might not have had before, right?

Whenever someone pipes up and expresses offense at his presence, it always reminds me of the "cool kids" table in high school. Juvenile and petty, IMO.
