Laptop And/or Phone?

The LG GS990 phone seems more laptop than phone, but it is a phone.

One thing is for sure, compared to the Iphone, the thing is huge and has a great screen.

Seems to lean more towards a netbook that acts as a phone. Bit lengthy and I wonder how it sits in your pocket.

Maybe I missed it, but what is the OS it runs on?

I'm looking forward to Apple's "slate" expected to be announced at the end of this month. It's supposed to be an iPhone on steroids.

It's a hybrid form of Linux, which combined with a very fast (albeit big) Intel processor, explains the high performance of the phone. Darn thing is fast.

Personally, I think it is perfect for people who need a large display - like old folks like me. For example, there are some applications like GPS, viewing photos or videos, surfing the web, etc., you just can't do well on the smaller phone displays. So if you use your phone for a lot of that, as the iphone crowd do, bigger I would think is better. Of course it still has to fit in a pocket or purse.

But if your phone is primarily a phone and you don't even text with it, then I still like my Motorola razr. The main reason is because when it is unfolded, the ear peace and microphone are closer to where it feels and functions like a real land-line phone. I tried some of the other PDA phones, and the phone part never seemed as good, although my son--in-law and daugther love their PDA phones.

So, is your phone a phone, or is it more than that?

And if you are using the phone as a keyboard, as they do with iphones, wouldn't the longer model be a better keyboard?

I use the iPhone and really dig it and I'll admit I am somewhat of a MAC Fan Boy. Did however have a BB as my first smart phone which was nice as well.

Looking forward to the iSlate as well...Think tablets in general allows for a great presentation tool for reps.
