Large Group 50+ Non-Medical Carriers

I would like to hear others thoughts about which carriers they would use/recommend for large groups, 50 to 400 lives, for Group Life, Group STD, Group LTD, and Group Dental. Thanks.

Group DI is going to depend on general occ class and average income of the employees. If more blue collar and/or lower income Lincoln is often a pretty good bet. If higher income professionals I'd look at Guardian. Both Guardian and Lincoln will cover a lot of the other benefits so you can bundle for a discount.

Delta Dental and Guardian have the largest and second largest dental network in the country respectively, and are leaders in that line.

Of course, as anyone who has done this a couple of times knows, it's really about how badly the insurance company wants the case. Submitting to a bunch will get you your answer. Companies will change their insurance providers for insurance benefits like people change their shoes, best not to care too much about any one carrier and be their guy or gal to find them the best benefits at the best price. You make someone look like a hero at budget time, and you've got a lot of emotional capital from then on.
