Lets Make E and O Companies Fight Over Us!

We both have sponsored plans, yes.

Many carriers have a "deal" for E&O for their agents. I used to get E&O via Colonial as they had a good price (and what is interesting is that Colonial did NOT require E&O!!).

Now I buy it via Anthem Blue Cross of CA. You might check your state here:

BCS E&O Insurance Program

Some life carriers have E&O deals, but you have to shop. Ohio National offers E&O but it is quite a bit more than what I pay via BCS and MGA Insurance Services link above for same coverage.

E&O is a lot like disability insurance in the sense that you get what you pay for. If you are buying E&O simply because your carrier requires it then by all means buy it cheaply.

If you understand the fact that you can get sued for all manner of things, and a lot of things without merit I'd wager cheap isn't the best solution.

I don't carry E&O for the liability limits, though that is important, I carry it for the defense costs.

Do I want to write a check for defense or do I want the experts to handle it?
