Life Insurance 40-hour Course Expiration

I am new here and am impressed by the forum so far. I have a question which if answered can possibly save me some money and time.

I took the 40-hour Life, Health, and Annuities course in 2006 and never did the state exam here in Florida. Has my course expired? Will I need to do the course again before taking the state board?

I am looking to start now and would like to purchase the book, self study, and then sit the exam.

Yes, you will have to do the 40 hours all over again.
