A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency, and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact-checked on a per-article basis. Please note sources on this list are not considered fake news unless specifically written in the reasoning section for that source

I just removed and blocked someone for posting fear-mongering posts on their personal profile about the insurance industry in the USA and causing doubt whether claims would be paid in the event of a COVID-related death. (To be clear, I did post the proper information like the link to the ACLI, and that poster DELETED those comments and continued to promote fear-mongering. That's when I unfriended and removed from my groups. Licensed agents should be realistic, but supportive of the industry in general.)

This stemmed from an article on a France-based insurer who (allegedly) excludes suicide COMPLETELY on a policy and ruled the complications of the COVID vaccine as "experimental medication" and therefore ruled the death as a suicide.

This poster was saying "who would prevent this from happening in the United States?"
I'll tell you: 50 state insurance commissioners and the NAIC would not allow that.

We have 50 state regulators, not just one country regulating insurance. And no commissioner would want to be the FIRST one to exclude suicide PERMANENTLY from claims.

There is also this ACLI (American Council of Life Insurers) press release, should anyone here have to deal with it.

For anyone with clients or prospects, keep this on hand:

Now, as far as UNDERWRITING is concerned, I happen to know that Columbus Life now has some updated standards regarding underwriting for Covid Vaccination status.

I just hope the industry does not go to zoom calls instead of face to face meetings. In person makes a huge difference in selling a policy.

With the now I'm home COVID checks I wonder how long before in home test become a requirement.

Hopefully never but I remember the days of mouth swabs.
