Link to My Page on the Corporate Website or Link to My Own Site?

I'm an Allstate agent but this same question applies to any agent of the big brands. Is it better to link potential customers to my page on the Allstate.com website (where the customer could go and get a direct quote from the call center and bypass me) or should I direct them to my custom website where I'm less likely to lose them to the call center people? I'm thinking my custom (non-Allstate) site would be better but I wanted to see if anyone here can validate my thinking.

TIA!!!

Dude, seriously...what kind of question is that? Why on earth would you not want the business to come directly to you? If there is even a small chance of losing that business to someone else you kibosh that plan.

Here is the real question. What does Allstate say about having your own site? Something tells me your compliance already has taken a stand on this, and that is probably to prohibit independent sites. Also, are you securities licensed, then your B/D, Allstate's B/D, gets to chime in on this.

Allstate does not "encourage" us to have our own website but it is not prohibited. A couple of local agents have them but they are not actively doing any internet marketing. Thanks for all the responses and validating my opinion.
