LinkedIn is definitely more for you getting "recruited" lol.
We've had agents have very minimal success with selling some stuff on Facebook.
Direct mail leads are still hard to beat when it comes to scaling up one's income most consistently and efficiently.

If you're targeting the general demographic on LinkedIn, is there any chance that those people respond to direct mail?
I'm sorry but I dont see it (again, assuming that is the prospect that you're targeting).
To answer the OP question, I connect with almost everyone that I know on LinkedIn but don't target it for leads. There are some on this forum that do so hopefully they respond.
