Hello All,
Thanks in advance to everyone for their advice/feedback. I am looking for a resource that I can purchase a list of individuals in San Diego that have purchased term insurance in the past 5 years. I have called Sales Genie and InfoUSA and it doesn't appear that they have anything. Does anyone know where I could find such a list?

To the best of my knowledge, no such list exist. The identity of a person who purchase insurance, ANY insurance is protected information. Companies can sell you list of people who have inquired about insurance, but no one is going to sell you a list of people who have actually purchased insurance.

Your only option in obtaining the exact list you are looking for would be get a job at basicly any insurance company, Orphan policy holders can be broken down by policy type.
But if your indy you S.O.L cause obviously companies could never/nor would they ever give them out for a variety of reasons as stated earlier.
Sometimes agents sell orphans but good luck.
Maybe try Mortgage lists if your trying to sell life thats probably the closest your get (and its not to close)

One of the primary consumer database compilers has a model-driven filter used to identify life insurance ownership. It doesn't isolate by product type, however. I think this is as close as you'll get to what you're looking for. It breaks down in units of 10, so you can select just the highest probablility deciles. You can additionally select by age, income, dwelling type, etc.

Beiing model-based isn't a negative, because that's how all household income is estimated as well. With a few exceptions, today's computer models are quite accurate.

PM me if you want more information.

Good selling!

If you are wanting to sell Life Insurance, I assume you would use this type list to prospect. Rossum911 was asking for too much detail drill-down -- that doesn't exist. What does exist, and I believe is as close as he'll get -- is what was replied with.

A noteworthy amount of the income information is self declared as well, they get data from all sorts of places. Modeled data can work pretty well, but I'm very skeptical of it's ability to guess who purchased life insurance on a large scale with any degree of accuracy. If it was limited to business owners or high net-worth individuals that'd be one thing, but guessing how many blue collar workers and/or happy homeowners with a wife and 2.5 kids made the decision to buy life insurance would be a stretch.

MedicarePlanSolutions -- yes, I did not mention other sources of data such phone interviews and surveys. You seem more aware than others of how lists are compiled. Thousands of data sources are involved. That's why there are only a few true compilers in the USA. It's a very complex and expensive proposition. The model mentioned in my original post is from Claritas. It is, I believe, as close as rossum911 can get to the kind of list he wants. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the underlying data -- just mentioning that a file of assumed life insurance ownership is available. In some cases, it would be much more valuable than having no list at all.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I am not trying to do anything devious with the info, just trying to convert individuals term policies to perm.
