Looking for a Good Allstate Agent in NJ (preferably South Jersey)

Re: Looking for a Good Allstate Agent in NJ (preferably South Jer

If I recall in NJ the broker relationship is a little different for Allstate, and brokers can become Allstate agents. I don't know if that changed or not but it was something I picked up when I was in the Allstate call center.

BTW, if you use the call center, they can use the agent locator and find an agent for you, too. The agent can be assigned your policy, become the agent of record, and everything. So maybe that is a better place to go.

Oh you worked in a CIC center for 16 years. I been an agent for 13 years and when I came on with the company in 1998 we did not have a CIC center. Around 2003 or so they forced us to forward our phone to CIC and that was the worst thing for the agency force.

I am glade you went on your own and opened your IA agency congratulation! :)

Yeah the CIC has a use and then there is an issue with overusing them. It got to the point that new Allstate agents were told to sell and let the CIC service everything, making the agents nothing more than peddlers of insurance. They couldn't do billing or anything and eventually they couldn't fix their own mistakes.

It is becoming quite the mess...

They are trying to get rid of the CIC altogether. I Agree let the agent service there own account better for the company and the clients as well.

Re: Looking for a Good Allstate Agent in NJ (preferably South Jer

Thanks for all the posts. I wasn't expecting much response but this thread blew up.

The main reason for me to make the thread is to get some feedback from local or all NJ members if they had a GREAT experience with a certain and or their current agent.

and you couldnt just google, or search their website for a agent close to you?
I can just plug in my zipcode or call the main center and then they will give me a list of names. But how do I know which one is a good agent who wants to help you or listen to you or atleast WORK with you to give you the best deal.

Take a look at these name

Steve Mack

John Camillo

Edward Johnson.

Lets say they are my 3 closest agents. How the heck in the world I would know which one is better than the other? One could be an arrogant prick when the other could the nicest person. So that's why I was HOPING to get some posts like "hey my agent is fantastic. His name is ____. give him a call etc"

I never thought agent to agent makes much differnce until my eyes were open in 2007. I had a liability coverage on my 350Z. I was paying close to $2000 a year. I was pretty happy with it. Then, I was in my350z.com forum where I keep hearing about this All state agent that's like awesome. I give him a call. Not only he took the time on the phone to talk to me, he clearly told me why I was paying so much. My previous agent barely applied any discount and I had like HUGE health coverage where I'm fully covered (health) from my hospital job etc. Not only he brought my plan down, I was able to secure FULL coverage less than $1800! Honestly, I have taken at least 10 of my friends to him and they were all very happy with him. Unfortunately he has moved on to bigger things that's why I have to find an agent.

So, it's not just an agent. Me putting my zipcode in the website will generate some names but I will have absolutely no way of knowing how they are.

So, if there's anyone local from NJ or think there's a good agent in south jersey or NJ area, I'll call them. If not, I guess Plan B would be to just put the zipcode in and try the first agent that pops up.

Haven't you ever noticed, people buy from captive agents tend to like the personal touch? Perhaps she felt that people here have been vetted by the forum, and she is more likely to get a quality agent that way.

I've gained tons of knowledge from this forum about various companies. Sure, I can and did google them. But this forum gave me information I wouldn't otherwise get.
I agree. That's why I asked here. Plugging in a zipcode is easy but I'm looking for personal experiences from the NJ members here.

I hate to tell you this but any Allstate agent you will talk to will not be that excited to help you for the fact they will not get paid by you being a client. They will only service your account for no pay.

That's the fact.

So what can I do now? how am I suppose to find an agent? It's not my fault that my old agent decided to chose a different business venture.

So you return after 3 months and ask the same question, I have to say, I am dumbfounded, its pretty simple, GO TO A DIFFERENT INSURANCE COMPANY!!!!!

WHo care if you wind up paying a couple dollars more, you will get the service you want....

Geesh, this isnt rocket science........if you have a bad experience at a restaurant, do you return, hell no, you find a new one, so whats the difference??????????

Ding. Being here could also be a sign of a continuous learner or an engaged agent. Why go to Google or Allstate's site if you're looking for a good/personal agent. Neither Google or Allstate's sites will say "Personal agent," "engaged agent," etc.
