I am looking for a LTC carrier who would accept someone with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I don't know much about their medication situation, but this is for my BF's mom who is under 60 and who will absolutly need LTC when she gets older.

Has anyone worked with a carrier who has taken someone like this? If so, what carrier?

Thanks

She can be approved.
It will depend upon what medications she's taking and how many joint replacements she's already had. It will also depend upon if she's had any recent flare-ups, her height/weight and whether she's receiving disability benefits or not.

She is most likely insurable. The answers to these questions will determine which insurer will say "yes".

I'm hoping to get some very informative and NICE answers! :) I'm new to this portion of insurance. I've been doing Med Supps and MAPD, PDP's, and Life Insurance!

I had a fella, who is turing 65 next year. He wants to talk to me all about Med. Parts A and B, he wants to know the pro's and con's to both Supps and MAPD's, etc. He also wanted to talk with me about getting a LTC plan. I told him that I'd be more than happy to discuss all of that with him, if he'd want to set up a "date" after the holiday's then I'd discuss it all with him. He was ok with that!!!

Anyway, I pretended that I was the pro with LTC (obviously I spent more time with the Supp :) just making him feel comfortable with me) We are supposed to meet in mid January! I'm trying to learn as much as possible about LTC between now and then....

Can ya'll give me a quick overview of LTC, point me in the right directions to read up on it, learn why it's important to have it verses not having it.... What is the best and going rate for LTC, (I hear MoO is the best)...... any good solid information is appreciated

Since you're not the LTCi expert, split the case with another agent who is. 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing. Plus, there are so many moving parts to LTCi that you WILL screw up without the proper know-how. But in essence, LTCi pays the cost of either having in-home or facility care when you cannot take care of yourself anymore. Ask your client if they know of someone who has needed long term care. Ask them how they (or they themselves) felt during the process. How was it mentally, physically, financially? That alone should set you up for some sales.

(Also, 'cheapest' doesn't mean 'best'. Do you live in the slums and drive a Yugo?)

Looks like someone need to enroll at The American College and blaze through that LTCi book rather quickly

You'll never become proefficient in LTCi by the time you meet with this guy. The good news is, asking questions at this stage will get you much further than trying to blow hims away with your vast knowledge of the product.
