LTCi Information, Please!

You are correct Penn Treaty is not accepting any new business since the end of last year and there is no other carrier that has a product like their Secured Risk. We did a large amount of PT business and miss having that product for sure.

If you are looking for information on other carriers feel free to give me a shout. I work for United Insurance Group one of the largest FMO's in the country in the senior market (MA, Med Supp, LTCi, etc.) and my primary responsibility is our LTCi carriers/products.

I do like the LifeSecure product as well, in fact I worked at BCBSM and helped write the original business plan to start the company then was their Director of Sales for 2 years until I recently jumped to the broker side of the world about a month ago.

Genworth, John Hancock are the major players - Allianz is a good company but I don't know about thier LTC

I got an email a few weeks ago from Allianz basically saying they have re-evaluated their LTC underwriting requirements and to give them another try. I suspect they put together a mailing list of agents who did a good bit of business with them, then had a few cases in a row declined, and then stopped putting business with them.

One thing about Allianz, they do keep up with the field and with what other companies are doing.

I'm willing to give it a try. This time, though, I'm going to run the potential app past the lady (can't think of her name) who screens apps for initial underwriting. She seems to be on top of things.

i just got a woman who was seveerly obese approved with allianz. the premium wasnt cheap but she was declined by someone else already.
