MA Client Dental Insurance

I've got an MA client that declined dental insurance.. His dentist is giving estimates for 15k-25k for dental work that he can to pay some but not all. Are there dental plans that can help him with at least 5k? and would he sign up for the year or month to month

I dont really do dental ins, but wouldnt this be a pre-existing condition?

That's what I was thinking. Every plan I've seen (not tied in to a MA) includes a 12 month waiting period for anything major (ie. root canal, crowns, extractions, surguries).

Might be cheaper in the long run to just get false teeth.

The Anthem DHMO I posted above has a 6-month wait for the following services:

1-4 surface amalgam fillings
Scaling/Root Planing (per quadrant)
Single tooth extraction

All other covered services have NO waiting period. The plan has no annual benefit/service limit.

OK, so now I am curious, how much dental ins do you guys actually write?

As little as possible for stand-alone as the commission at 10% on a $13 per month plan is really useless. Plus most people buy stand-alone dental just to get the work done then drop the policy (hence the waiting periods).

I normally only sell the add-on when they apply in conjunction with a health plan at the same time, often with life as well. Stand-alone dental, never.
