I was checking out what the new MA PFFS plans look like for next year. They look like good news for the Med. Supp agents. In my area zero premium plans are going to $ 65-80 for the cheaper plans.

Absolutely - I agree. The new Plan N will be a HUGE competitor!
Are there no ways out of this for MAPD folks? How about if someone has one of those $0 premium MAPD plans and they take a supp? What would happen then? Could you use the MAPD plan for the PD part only, and then buy a supp and tell the doctor's insurance dept to run you through original medicare, then let the supp pick up?No, it actually won't. It's not available until June - 2 months after the deadline to change from back to Medicare (and supp) from an MAPD plan.
Just an other example of governing with one's head up one's ass.

2010 is out, but 2011 is good!
In 2010, you may not be able to, but in 2011 with M & N coming, the premiums will be very competitive with MA plans and an easy conversion. It would be a major marketing violation if an agent sold an MedSupp to an MA member. Can't do that.
The real question for all of us is how do you get these $65 - 80. premium plans replaced with an health underwritten MedSupp? And how do you get some 75 year old to now pay $80. vs. your offer of $180 MedSupp premium. They may just go without... and of course this adds to the UNDER-insured!
