Hello everyone,

I am a P&C agent with about 7 years of experience in strictly p&c. I also have a l&h license but never really made any use of it.

Anyways, I have a large number of clients who are doctors and they all require malpractice insurance; I wanted to know how do I go about looking for malpractice insurance carriers because thus far I have been unable to find any!

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Raza

You might want to check your local Big I for help on that or check with a local wholesaler that can help you place that type of risk.:)

Malpractice insurance is very highly specialized.

Most standard P&C groups do not have the resources to place malpractice from what I have been told in the past. Many Malpractice carriers are captive. You need to find a specialty group, or go career with a Malpractice insurer.

Malpractice insurance is like E&O on super steroids. But to compare it to E&O would be like comparing a mercedes to a pinto. If your not a specialist in this field, then you dont need to be in it.

Thanks for the advice guys, Will keep in mind!

I've been in touch with some malpractice companies, still thinking about it. Already have a few doctor's contact me for their malpractice but unfortunately I can't earn their business. Will update what happens,

Thanks!

I thought malpractice will be offered by the doctor's network/association, since they dont buy individual malpractice

more cost effective to buy group malpractice

Check with your local MGMA. They usually have 1 or more networking agents/carriers represented already.

If you truly bring a group of providers to bring with you, I'm sure you can find your way into an agency!
