$2500? No. You need to talk to brokers WHO CAN SHOW YOU THEIR WEBSITES that are bringing in leads. Ask them who built it.

No agendas and no amateurs. Incidentally, my post is not referencing or targeting "Josh" or anybody else. I don't know him and it sounds like he might be a good starting point.

And ole Mark has some good ideas. Too bad I have about 1/40th of his knowledge about HTML, HTLM and HTLMOP.

No offense taken ;) Although it's not a common search term, google "Affordable Marketing Lists". I own about 40% of page one between a sweet listing from google (main link and 6 links to subpages), a new facebook page, and a happy customer review. That's 7 links in position one, position 4, and position 10 (as of today). Marketing Lists itself is a fairly competitive term.

I also don't mean this sarcastically, I am absolutely an amateur at this and really haven't been doing it that long. I just started playing with this stuff on some of my own sites and have a forum member here that hired me and is now ranking page 1 on Google for one money term, dancing on page 2 for others, and is page one on bing for 3 or 4 depending on the day. Again, I'm an amateur at this (and priced as such), but apparently Google likes the way I do things and Bing is just falling all over me.

To give credit where credit is due, Brook has been helping me a ton and taught me a lot of cool things that are making my efforts as successful as they are. Without help from Brook I wouldn't be able to build my web presence the way that I am or be able to help others.

Hi Joseph,
Thanks for starting this threat and nicely carried by other members. Collectively great threat for those who have started business and looking to expand their business and to earn more.

im going on my 14th year in the industry, this is my 5th year with "my own" agency. i purchase on average 700 leads per month from three sources...one source being a cold caller that i pay an hourly rate in my office....the other two are lead vendors that i have worked with since 2004. we write anywhere from 100-175 new policies per month...i purchase 700 leads at an average of $10.00 each. i end up making about 35% of my initial investment back in profits.....on a daily basis we keep track of our bad leads...first of all, if i cannot contact my lead in 3 days im not paying for it..... second of all, even if i dont pay for the lead, i make sure we get each and every person on the phone. whether its two weeks later or two months later, we work our own aged leads rather than buying new lists...but for the sake of the post, im being quoted at 2500 for a 1- page website...reasonable?

Am I missing something with my math???

You buy 700 leads at $10 = $7,000 per month.
Your profit is 35% = $7000 x 35% = $2450 per month
You sell 100 - 175 policies...
$2450/100 = $24.50 per policy
$2450/175 = $14 per policy.

What exactly are you selling?? Seems like a lot of work for very little profit?

Property and casualty. There are a lot of agents that work for very little FYC.

well from each lead I obviously gain residuals....also from the leads that I write I am able to produce references of family and friends. Networking is the game, how you play it is what separates us.
