I got a call today about a med sup. It was a referral fom one of my Admiral clients. The people calling have Continental and are on plan E.

I told them I could save them money on plan E, but, would recommend plan D. They insisted they wanted to stick with E as the agent that sold it to them said that they should never let anyone talk them into another plan. If the agent gave them a reason, they don't remember it.

I don't see an advantage to E in looking over the plans. Does anyone know of an over riding reason to emphasize that plan over over D or any other plan?

I would close that sale with these points:

Lay out a sheet showing the benefits with all plans side by side. I like the ones that come in the back of Admiral/Sterling brochures... even though I'd not sell Admiral if it were the last company on earth.

A. With the Medicare Mod. Act of 2003 and the addition of preventative care to traditional medicare benefits the "preventative care" benefit is obsolete.
B. With the changes to med. supps coming by June 2010 E will be rolled into D. The changes do away with the preventative care benefit and at home recovery visits. That would make D and E the exact same. Under the standards the lowest letter stays... E will no longer exist by the end of 2010.

BTW... J becomes F

G lives, but loses at home recovery, but gains 100% for excess benefits.
