Anyone had this issue?
My first client with a non-par provider. Given that the insured's provider is still showing on Medicare's site as accepting assignment, could their records need updating? The provider stated they changed their status with Medicare to non-participating (for newbies, that means the provider can charge more than the basic allowable charges, based on the Medicare established limits) The billing is sent to Medicare by the provider, the patient pays the provider but the amount of reimbursement from the MedSupp after Medicare paid their part seems to be only at the level of the allowable charges. The client has met the Part B deductible.
Will be calling the MedSupp carrier.
