I wanted to share an experience with other new agents that may be helpful in helping you sell more Medicare supplements, I hope. I can only relate my experience with it.
That is, Medicare supplement group meetings. I read a few chapters in a book about multi-level marketing, and they dealt with setting up at-home meetings for groups. I hope it continues to work for me because last week was a blast.
You will need 1 potential client to start with. Get that person by cold-calling, direct mail, whatever.
Step 1. Get their current companies name. Each person I started this with last week knew family and friends that used the same company, these were MOO folks. (probably not necessary) Of course you have discussed the money savings with the original client already.
Step 2. Offer to purchase a nice lunch or dinner if they will allow you to try to set up a meeting to see everyone at once, at their house. ( IT IS ILLEGAL TO BY LUNCH OR DINNER FOR MA MEETINGS)
Step 3. Call all of the potential clients, USING #1's NAME, and invite them to the gathering an meal. Be sure they know that there is no obligation to buy anything, it is an information session on the changes in Medicare.
You will need a wipe off board, and easel. I spoke to my folks as they were eating, to save time, but this is a work in progress.
Whatever presentation you use now, you can use it then too, just to more people. Keeping it orderly is going to be a learning process for me.
Last week I had 2 meetings with a total of 9 people, I sold 3 med supps and have an appointment with 3 more tomorrow morning, all from 2 meetings. If I could get 4 meetings a week, that is all I would do. 3 hours a day, that's it.
Maybe it was a fluke but it seemed like it was pretty easy to set up.
