Medication Lookback Procedure

I have a prospect who has been taking Aricept since 1992 from a Mild Traumatic Brain injury. They are not and have not been diagnosed with Alzheimers or Dementia, but their doctor just never took them off the medication. Outside of that, she is generally healthy. Submitted an app with Prosperity and they were declined due to this medication. She's going to be talking with her doctor to take her off of it, so that she may be approved. How long would it take for Prosperity, or RNA (only contracted with those two for level coverage right now), to recognize she's been taken off of that medication?

Thanks!

This is extremely tricky. You will need to call a carrier and let them know that you will be submitting an application. I would personally call American Amicable and talk to their underwriters to give them heads up. Additionally, you will need to have something signed from her doctor stating that your client does not have dementia/alzheimers and that they don't need to be taking this medication.

Even after taking these steps, it could still be tricky. Good luck! This is a tough one.

Thank you, those are good ideas. She's taking it off label because it helps her focus, which obviously doesn't do justice for underwriting.

I was taking a forbidden drug off label a few years ago due to the aftereffects of radiation for throat cancer. I called UHL, explained it to the underwriter and they issued the policy Express Issue Premier, immediate benefit.

GTL doesn't check rx or mib so i expect massive clean sheeting to hit it like 5 star. My question is how is the drafting ? They only have ss drafting on wed's i believe ( maybe i'm wrong ). Rouse many carriers ask for a dr's report at the insured's expensive on a situation like you had .

Well, I had to have a physical (since I was writing myself) so I explained to the nurse as well as having a conversation with the underwriter and they accepted that.
