Million Dollar Question

Either that or get a better lead source and some coaching.

We wre talking about closing 30% of appointments, not leads. He was also asking about a new FE agent. Certainly a veteran should close much more than 30% of appointments.

The lead question would be how many leads did it take to set 10 appointments.

True dat.

But I think that in some peoples' minds, a lead and an appointment are one and the same.

Heck, you could get $1,000 in commission in two appointments per week if you qualified the appointments up front. Sell two couples a plan on the husband and the wife, and you'd actually be quite a bit over the $1,000 in commission.

This is the million dollar question that I get asked multiple times a week. So, how many appointments does a relatively new final expense agent need to have every week in order to be successful and make a minimum of 1K per week. This is based upon having .90% contract and 9 month advance. 10-12?
What we calculated is that everage premium would be 600 dollars, closing rate would be 20%. three policies will get you over 1800 premium. 1800*0.9*.75=1200 advanced pay. total leads needed would be 3/20%=15 leads.

Okay, out of 15 leads how many appointments should an agent be able to set, 10-12? Not an experienced final expense agent, keep that in mind.
We tell agents to work the leads hard. They set appointments as much as possible. If the appointments are not set due to difficulty of contact, we ask them visit the home. Today one of my agent went out with me with 5 leads/cards without appointments. got 2 sales from one family, 1 not at home, 1 scheduled for next week, 2 declined. Not bad.

why do you think they are asking you....... this question?

I am not sure what their personal motives are for asking me this , I did not reply with "why are you asking me this"? When I was a rookie I had lots of questions. Some agents need 15 appointments, some need 5.

A lot more than if you have a 115% contract with a 12 month advance. I assume that you have your reasons which are not my business.

But regarding the leads, I find a much higher success rate knocking on the door with the lead card in hand. I know a lot of guys prefer to use the phone, but I can guarantee my ROI out-performs 90% of them. I personally see a significant improvement in sets when I knock doors.
