Millions of Uninsured Americans Exempt from ObamaCare Penalties in 2016, Report Finds

For those of you who don't want to read:

~30M americans are believed to be without insurance. (This is wrong, as CBO's reports have drastically different data. They might be counting a different way, who knows, they didn't specify. http://www.cbo.gov/sites/default/files/cbofiles/attachments/43900-2014-04-ACAtables2.pdf <Most recent April report. 54M uninsured, and they are actually estimating MORE uninsured for the future (although a lower percentage, as population grows...)

~6M were estimated to face a penalty (of the "30M")

~4M is the new estimate.

Moral of the story, millions have been exempt and still are, although a few more than originally estimated may be exempt.

It is strange, Ray. All the recent news points to a significant decrease in the number of uninsured, thanks to ObamaCare, with most of the shrinkage due to Medicaid expansion.

The April report of Fifty-Four million uninsured is the highest estimate I've seen to date. Maybe they're counting people who are not here legally as uninsured (true), but not counting them as penalty-tax eligible (also true). Factually, that would be the correct way to view the numbers.
