I have a letter on my desk from today's mail regarding Humana stating commissions will be reduced 1/1/11 on all policies effective 8/15/10 and later, is that from my crystal ball as well?

Got the same letter. It was even addressed to TX Insurance in care of my address.
FWIW, I attended a Humana meeting a couple of weeks ago. They, along with other carriers, are pushing for agent comp outside of MLR. Hoping for 5%. If so, that means agent comp cuts in half in their case.
Going to a bigger meeting on Wednesday where I am sure the topic will come up again.

I don't understand why they would cut comp if it's outside the MLR. Going down to 5% (with the exception of 1st year) isn't an amount that the general public is likely to notice.
