Actually, Mutual of Omaha doesn't do a Med Supp in AZ. It would have to be United World and evidently AZ is a banded state whereas the male smoker ages 65-69 rate for any zip code would be $144.81. Now the non-smoker rate is 125.99 if that's what you meant.
This is according to the website and the outline of coverage as of 01-01-09. I tried to pull up Moo and United of Omaha and both stated there is no med supp available in AZ.
Remember, I'm just a messenger here so don't shoot me if the website is wrong! ;)

Log on to the MoO website and take a look at the outline of coverage. Copy it to the client and you'll win the case for being upfront and having your ducks in a row.

Yea I get the same thing 125.99 and 144.81, sounds like Ive got an unscrupulous agent coming in behind me throwing out false claims. I guess ill find out tomorrow. The bottom line is the guy needs to quit smoking...:GEEK:

If he is just turning 65 or still in the GI period, he doesn't answer the health questions thus get the non smoker rate.

The smoking question isn't in with the health questions on the app. You may get away with it, but I would hate to be you if you lie about smoking and there ends up being a claim for something related.

I've asked this question with many carriers. Have always been told they are ok to issue non smoker and client doesn't have to answer the question as it is health related.

That's not the case here in Georgia. You are REQUIRED to answer the tobacco question. If it is left unanswered, they will return the application to have it answered and initialed by the client. If they use tobacco, they get tobacco rates. Maybe it's different in your state.

well I sell in GA and I was told that we can NOT charge a tobacco rate if open enrollment. This has been confirmed by Continental, Bankers, and RNO. If they are a guarantee issue A,B,C or F then we are to answer the tobacco questions. Those new to Part B (regardless of age) are always nontobacco rated in TN and GA.

you were given false information by that company. :1confused:

Alabama is the same way.....OE cases are non-tobacco rates.
