Hello all:

My first post here. Have been in business since 1995 but pretty inactive on life side most of that time since 1998.

Was doing some Final Expense in NY from 2005 to 2006. Moved to FL in 2006. Just got Life licensed in FL. Have enjoyed this forum for last two years or so but never registered.

Has anyone heard of Mountain Financial? They claim they have 40 carriers, online apps and concierge service where you provide name, number and face amt requested and they sell the policy on your behalf.

Any input would be appreciated...thanks.

Mountain financial is now the National Brokerage. It merged with SBS. It does have many carriers. It has good web access. Their OES system is good. But they do not publish their organization structure, payout structure, promotional structure. It is all in the blackbox. You have to keep asking more to get information out.

Yes, Mountain Financial is now National Brokers. I am contracted with them. They have a really good system. If you use the concierge system, they will do everything for you in regard to the sale but you will get a slightly lower commission. Look into some more, it's legit.

When I spoke with Mountain Financial or now National Brokerage, I was told they quote from nearly 100 different carriers. Is thier any truth to this. Also I know that the more work that you have them do on a case the lower your percentage seems to fall as well.

These are not "claims" they are fact. All you have to do is call them and talk to a sales rep. They will give you instant access to the OneE system, where you can begin the contracting paperwork, run quotes and submit cases to the My concierge service. Yes, you could probably find a higher contract, but good luck with the paper apps and no support.

I just got a call with them, she (Laura) told me they have over 40 carriers to pick, and EOS system, and contracts that go from 80-90. Also, they give you a free website for 4 or 5 products sold a month. They have a partnership with NETQUOTE, but she couldnt tell me the discount lead price, hmm. Oh and you get 15 free quotes from netquote. Laura's number is 800-377-6344 ext 1191, if you have any questions. im still on the fence. im looking for more info

I checked with them some months ago and they were unwilling to respond to the two basic questions:Commission levels and release policy. Get it in writing or pass on these guys.

I am a little fimaliar with Mountain Financial as I have ran across them occasionally when cold calling. I am successful as swaying agents who have used them in the past using some basic information about I/we do differently or better. 1. the same and more companies (particularly co.s that have a strong financial) 2. A web based system to quote which is the same as theirs (designed by IPipline), better service (I know, easy to say hard to prove until you've tried). 3. Most of all, much higher compensation scheduales (20-35%). Every agent I've talked to is receptive and most will try us out. I haven't lost one agent who has switched to us and all feel they receive better service. Some agents won't try us because of a relationship and I can respect that and move on. We also do a fair amount of impaired risk and advance markets work and I get many referrals from agents to other agents. That is my best indication that we are doing things right. Why get paid less for writing the same business?
