Have about as good a chance of this being published as Obama keeping a campaign promise, but I gave it a try.

As a libertarian I am opposed to the health insurance reform in the Congress as it is unconstitutional, but as an American I am disgusted with the buyouts given to Nebraska, Florida, Louisiana and other states. If this bill was so good, why did Harry Reid need to bribe various Senators just to bring it to a vote?

But more upsetting is that neither Senators Boxer nor Feinstein held out until the Feds agreed to pay all of CA debts, retirement plan liabilities, and future Medi-Cal costs. Are they not as smart as Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson?

This entire episode is disgraceful.

Most excellent.

Don't think it will get published by the lefties at LAtimes but....if you started out a chain-letter type of thing with "Why are YOUR Whores Better than MY Whores?" it could get things started...

I'm 42 and have no idea how many major laws have been enacted but I've never followed anything this closely. I must say, Democrats and Republicans aside, this has to be one of the worst ways to create laws.

If you're a Republican and are for it you can't break ranks. If you're a Dem and against it you're literally bought off.

This entire process has nothing to do with the merits of the bill - whether it's good or bad for the country seems to be irrelevant.

There has to be a better way.

Looks like Rick is onto something.

Maybe I just don't understand something. But other than commissions, wouldn't some type of reform be good for the American public? I am so tired of having applications being declined for the sillist reasons. I know that insurance compianies are for profit. And I can understand some declines. But to get declined for taking and expensive acne med is downright silly. Why not rider the med. Anyway, I turned on Rush yesterday to see what the republicans and other white people were so mad at. One person said instead of buying health insurance he would force them to put him in jail then sue the government. This same uninsured person will then get some crazy illness and then wish like hell he would have bought into the insurance plan. Maybe it's because I'm black why I don't understand. I'm more rep than dem however sometimes the greater good is more important than a commission. Yes I voted for Obama, and damn proud of it. He like every other president is merely the president and not a king. So of course all promises cannot be kept. Not just by him but any politician. But the man is trying to change some fundemental things that's not right in this great country of ours. And health care is one of them. I myself am uninsurable from a kidney diesease. However, I'm retired military so I get great insurance for my entire family for $457 a yr. Anyway, please tell me how I'm wrong for wanting the greater good to be served. And no I don't agree with everything our president says. And I think government is too big. But if this thing helps people get insurance instead of a decline. I'm all for it. SometimesI get heartbroken having to tell these people that they can't have insurance, even if they can afford the outrageous prices.
