Ned Help on MA Client

Dwayne,
Given the error made by the other agent, I would think you should refer this man to,
Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program
One of the VICAP counselors could make a telephone call to Medicare and un-do the term of Humana. I've seen this happen many times.

Thanks, I will get with him on Monday as I am leaving for Pa. for a funeral in the morning. I did speak with Humana a few minutes ago and they want me to do a three-way converstation with the guy. Thank you for all of your help.

The GI period because they lost Coventry only pertains to getting a med sup. They have 63 days from the day the MA plan ended to buy a med sup with no medical questions. It makes no difference what they did or didn't do about another MA plan.

They also had an SEP for MA plans. All it really did for them was allow them to change to another MA plan early, like Nov. 1 or Dec. 1 instead of having to wait until Jan. 1.

Being in an MAPD does give them the right to keep a part D when they go to a med sup.

All you have to do is send in the disenrollment letter they got from Coventry with your med sup app. If they no longer have the letter, they can call Coventry and they will send new ones. That will take about 10 days. That letter will state exactly what I've posted here

How did this case work out?

I told the wife to keep her CSA that was approved, for now. We can deal with that later.

The husband has applied trough WOW through me and I am waiting on the answer. If it doesn't come by the end of the month, I am going to do a three-way call with him and Humana to get things reversed. They have said that they can make this happen.

The other agent has gone by the house and the wife told me she still doesn't realize what she has done.

As Dayton mentioned, if an agent screws up a client, CMS can issue an SEP in that situation. She should be advised to seek it.

you can use the OEP to go back to original medicare and pick up a stand alone part d since their MAPD effective date was jan 1st. and they also have GI rights that last 63 days after their last day of coverage from their pffs plan. all they need to do is submit their cancellation letter to the company and they dont have to go through underwriting. if i were you do it quick
