Need Advice on Career Path/change!!

I have been working with Aflac for 2 years. I found this forum a few months ago. (Wish I'd found it earlier) And everyone seems to think that Aflac is not a long term career. I am starting to agree. I have worked really hard and long hours and over 40,000 miles worth of road, and I have very little to show for it.

I have an interview with a local Auto/Home/Commercial agency in my area this week. I was hoping some of you would be able to give me some advice as to whether it would be a good change to go to this side of things instead of sticking it out with Aflac? I am very good at sales. But after 2 years of beating business owners to death, I'm as tired of it as they are. Please help. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

By split you mean what exactly? I meet with him tomorrow. These are the kind of things that I need to know to ask and be concerned about. Anything else I need to ask or be aware of to ask? Thanks.

How will you be compensated? Is it commission and if so how much of the total do you get? What about renewals?

What is a good split? If it's salary and commision, what is a combo of that? I'm sorry to be so ignorant. Thanks for the help.

You have to know what they will provide to give a reasonable answer. Will they supply office space, salary, health insurance, benefits, leads, etc.

I will post again tomorrow to let everyone help me with the offer. Thanks. I've never sold P&C before. So I just wasn't sure what to ask or what I need to be asking for. Do you sell P&C xrac?

Odds are, this is going to be a real job interview, and not that sales pitch you got from Aflac. I wouldn't even bring up compensation until he did or he's told you "You're hired."

Once he does, then you can get into it with some detail. But the more salary you take, the lower your overall comp is likely to be. Sure, if you don't sell much, the salary is great, until he fires you for lack of production.

I do not sell P&C but I have some understanding about what normal compensation is or should be.
