Need Help, Its Been Horrible....

"He asked me to call him in the last week of February to arrange"

All I needed to read

He wasn't a buyer (at least not from you anyways)

Probably still won't buy

Pretty sure Trans and 5 star...although I wouldn't want to test them out:skeptical:

I have a client that recently passed unexpectedly four days before the first draft. Trans went ahead and drafted the first premium, said the key is that the policy was in "in-force" status. Of course, the contestability investigation on someone who died that soon will be another story. This fellow was 72, wasn't on any meds except a couple of inhalers for his COPD and a blood pressure pill. Didn't smoke any more and was getting around as well as any 72 year old I have visited. Died in his sleep. Guess you just never know, especially at that age.

In your agent manual, it specifically recommends making the effective date the date of application. This is why. Granted, his family still has the 2 year contestability to deal with. At least now they have a chance. Good job!

They had coverage anyway, this is a replacement for an AARP term that we had put on direct bill. I guess it's good that it happened before the grace period was up on that policy if it was going to happen.

Back to the original post: Jan and Feb have always been tough months
for me because we have weather issues. The fall is always been my best quarter of production. I think you have to plan on the FE biz being a long race not a short haul because you will have some bad weeks but if you have consistent leads
you can figure your averages and they always work. I have been doing nothing but FE for 8 years now and my experience is you may need to change a few things from time to time such as how much mail to mail or which co you write for but it gets very stable and predictable one you have been working your territory for any length of time and you find your pace. Took me 3 years to figure out mine but I did not have a mentor. sounds like you do. should save you time and money. Good luck!

Maybe this will help you: Sell yourself first. Why would this person 'want' to do business with you? Come up with a few sentences about your background, your experience before you get into product. If I leave this out no matter what I am writing the call and/or visit does not go as well.

I am not in final expense, however, I have been in insurance for many decades. Throughout the years if there was an award to be won or a trip to qualify for it was mine.

This tip came to me from a very wealthy real estate broker. I am not a 'hard closer'; that's not my style. He told me, "The insurance industry will eat you alive if you try to be anything but yourself." He also advised me to 'tell stories', and that's what I do. "Yes, I know how you feel. It does seem as if this is a lot of money and I understand it is difficult to add anything more to your budget. However, a few weeks ago a client I've had for many years .... etc."
