Negative on MA

What if she moves and is then uninsurable for a standard plan?

Rick

Rick,

If she did move out of the plan's service area, this would be a Guarantee Issue reason.

We had a similar situation last year. Man and wife moved from FL to TN, and had been here over a year with a SELECT plan. Man had a hospital stay and had to pay the $1024 deductible (out-of-network). He was uninsurable.

We at first thought there was a 63-day time frame to change as a GI. After studying the rules, we were able to change him with no health questions.

Joe's right. We have about 4,000 people in the select program. We can also move them into standard F at any time without health Q's.

I was aware of one select plan that turned bad when the main hospital wanted out of the network. How's that for a kick in the pants??

The select plan I'm with, is ran very well..and requires alot of hand holding with the hospitals. But it does generate alot traffic for them.
