Where are all the companies releasing the new MIPPA Med Supp. The only one I am aware of is Mutual of Omaha, are there more, curious how the rates are

Lots of carriers have just filed their new Med Supps. Many don't have any approved yet. First ones are supposed to be available June 1, 2010.

They will not start to roll-out until next year. Most folks can't enroll before the 3 month preceding June 2010, so expect something between January and March.

MoO you can enroll 6 months in advance. They should be coming out with the June 2010 plans(rates)....soon.

MoO has already come out with rates in certain states. I want to see some carriers that will be offering Plans M & N and see how those rates look.

It was thought that the new plans would have rates under those currently being offered. In the states I do business in only one has rates posted for the Mod2010 plans and they are exactly the same as the current plans being sold. Plan F effective 2/1/2010 is the same price as the ouline of coverage for those plans effective 6/1/2010 and later.

The rates that you're looking at G. Gordon are probably rates that are effective from Jan 1 through May 31st. On the 2010 outline of coverage with United of Omaha it states "Plans with coverage effective dates through May 31" in big bold letters on the cover page....meaning they will be changing.

Nope. Not on the outline I'm looking at for MODERNIZED 2010 PLANS. Modernized plans can't have effective dates prior to 6/1/10.

Aren't the rules for Arkansas a little different than many other states? Aren't they a community rated state? I don't know that for sure, I just recall hearing something about that recently. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If it is true, wouldn't that have a lot to do with the rates not really changing? I would venture to guess in other states that aren't community rated the rates could be lower than the standardized plans since it will be a new block of business.

I just want someone to come out with some rates on Plans M & N to see if either will be a worthy competitor to MA plans.
