New 2010 Medicare Supplement

I doubt a state's rating rules would have anything to do with it. Community rating is basically this: If you live in a community, usually seperated on a zip code basis, all clients will have the same rate in that "community from "that" company on "that" plan.

I was also trying to get ins0707 to understand his mis-statement that modernized plans, the subject of this thread, can't have an effective date earlier than 6/1/10.

I understand how community rating works. No need to explain it to me. My point was that Arkansas's pre and post 06/01/2010 rates may be the same for that reason.

Go to MOO's site and look at rates for MOO in Nebraska. You will see the Standardized rate for a Female age 65 Plan F is $127.35 while the same Plan F on the Modernized plan will be $85.46. Oklahoma is the same way but with United of Omaha instead of MOO. The rate difference isn't as drastic, but the Modernized rates are lower.

I stand by my previous statement that Arkansas's rates are no different due to community rating. This is my personal belief and have no proof to back it up. But I bet a simple phone call would confirm. You have every right to disagree but that doesn't make it true.

The outline of coverage I mentioned is rates through May 31st, meaning these are not the modernized medicare supplement rates. That's why it was listed in big bold letters. They don't seem to have come out with the new rates, in Mi anyways for the plans we can start selling June 1st 2010.
