New Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan

So, other than pricing and being forced to be uninsured for 6 months, how is this different from the state high risk pool plan? Will it take the place of the state plans in those states that asked the feds to administer it? Texas was on that list in the OP, but I seem to remember Gov. Perry telling Obama to eff off.

And, just what are "standard market premium rates"?
will there be rate ups for those pre-x?

There is a notice on the Texas Risk Pool web site about the new program:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please read the notice in the following link about the new Federal High Risk Pool program before you submit your
application for coverage to the Texas Health Insurance Pool.

If you read the PCIP application it does not appear you need to be uninsured for 6 months. If you have had a px condition ridered or if you have been denied coverage in the last 6 months you can get in the Obamapool.

I'm not sure I'm following your logic here.....section 5 seems to be pretty cut and dry......who knows?

To be eligible for this coverage, you must have been without other health coverage for at least 6 months from the date of this application.

You are dealing with the govt. No way to know exactly what they will be willing to do. They have demonstrated this over and over.

Kiddie coverage was not originally GI, now it is. Who is to say they won't scarf up those who have coverage?
