Hello everyone I am VERY new to the insurance business.I have done sales and mortgages before and recently started with Allstate.Is there any advice on marketing?pros and cons about P&C or Life.I am very excited about this and want to succeed!!

Congrats, I work with Allstate as well. Are you an agent or a producer?

Email marketing is key for me. I spent a great amount of time working on, improving, and utilizing my email marketing system in order to make the most out of the leads that I get. I can not stress this enough how important email marketing is. I would estimate about 50% of my sales come from it.

Other than that its hard to give you specific advice just because I dont know the rates in your area. Where I am we smoke landlords rates and rates for toys like motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc so I make those the focus of my marketing and I let the home and autos come along with them.

I am a huge fan of commercial insurance. I cold call businesses to get the decision-makers name before I go into the business. This way I can ask for them by name. It is a little more effort to do it this way but I have built up a nice renewal business in just a few months.Call me if you would like and I will talk to you about it.

I don't sell a lot of life because I don't enjoy it and I only do what I enjoy, and that is commercial insurance and med supps, but there are plenty of people on the forum that can guide you on that.
