There are a few people on here wanting to become a state farm agent. What would you tell them?

Thanks all for the welcome! @ Mark - 10 years ago, I'd say State Farm was the place to be. I wouldn't recommend it now as I know too many agents that are barely makin it. Being an independent agent is the only way to go!

I pass it on 120 every day on my way down to the office in Modesto. Have to put my blinders on as I've donated a few paychecks there in the past.

It's good that you say in your post sunny California. I communicate with people across the country and the Winter has hammered the Midwest and the East coast. Were pretty fortunate to have the weather that we have. But, the valley floor might get a dusting of snow and that hasn't happen in a long time. BTW: will you be selling some life products or are you mainly going to sell p&c products?
