Newly Licensed

Ok I recently tested and passed my state licensing for Life and Health, is there a company that is better to work for than any other for a new agent with little to no leads of their own?

I'm always curious as to why someone gets their insurance license without a "job" to go to. I think it's a great career.

Why did you go through the trouble, time and expense?

I had a job (still do), however I know it is not the right one for me. I don't enjoy calling businesses that have been called numerous times in the same day from the same company. I am looking for a company that does not have a 90% turnover rate that offers a great program for new agents.

You should be looking for companies who have a lot to offer the prospects not simply looking for what they offer to agents.

If that company existed we would all be working there. To a degree it isn't the "company" that makes an insurance agent successful, it is the determination of the agent. But, the agent must represent a group of companies who offer excellent policies at a competitive price.

Your best chance of finding what you are looking for is to be an independent agent. It's not as scary as most people think.

Missy K, what state are you in? I can offer you GA level voluntary products that beat AFLAC. In the meantime you can get appointed with other carriers, why not...

All I can say is, if you enjoy calling businesses, ie enjoy cold calling you will be successful in any type of insurance because 80% don't really do it. You can beat the 80% of the rest by picking up the phone 2 or 3 hours a day, if you can bear it long term.
