Licensing Information is trickling in. All the big licensing providers look like they are, or expect to be, on board soon.

Pohs has released info. Course is still pending approval. 8CE credits (LA/LB/PC/BR licenses only) if you pass the 1-hour final exam. 7 1-hour modules make up the class.

It looks like the Exchange will contact brokers after the complete the course so they may sign an agreement and start selling.

First course is scheduled to start in early August. Cost is $100

The Insurance Licensing Institute of Long Island also indicates their classes are coming: http://www.ili-li.org/ .

I'm sure you know, NAHU and their state chapters (NYSAHU, and local chapters: NYMAHU, GCNYAHU, NENYAHU, WNYAHU) are planning on offering Exchange Certification. No official info yet for NY.

Hi RayNY.
It looks like all the courses in NY are in-class. Do you know if there are any online classes? I hold NY LA non-resident license and I don't feel like going to NY.... Does NY allow non-resident agents to sell in their exchange?
Thanks.

From what I've been told (By Pohs specifically), non-residents are allowed to sell so long as they 1) have a current license in NY and 2) complete the training/exam and complete the appointing agreement/process with the State Exchange.

As far as I know, there will not be online classes. I don't have a source to site, but I was under the impression that NY is not going to offer online classes. I wouldn't hold my breath...
